SURFER GIRL RETURNS?
As 2022 looms large and my schedule comes into focus, I started thinking about future projects. I’ve wanted to resume working on Surfer Girl since the first issue came out last year, but I’ve just needed time.
I’ve been absolutely swamped with fulfilling crowdfunded projects like SuperHeroes After Dark 4, Grimms’ Girls in Fairyland Tales and now I am deep in the process of working on and finishing Dangerous Curves/MAVRIX: Enter The Dollhouse.
However, right after I finished Surfer Girl #1, I quickly sketched out about 8-9 pages of additional story to continue where issue #1 left off. I then just as quickly jotted down a plot for the continuation of the story that would expand the mythos of Summer’s—AKA Surfer Girl’s—world.
The following rough layouts take place immediately after Summer’s maiden voyage of a first issue.
Basically, Summer is given a map to what she thinks will lead her to a land mass containing a treasure of some kind, but it takes her into the middle of the ocean. Thinking she’s been bamboozled, she’s suddenly attacked by a sea creature. Summer is then saved by my mascot, Jeggy(who in the Surfer Girl comics runs a local seaside tavern), and then THE BOTH OF THEM are saved by a mysterious, oceanic protector.
The story would resume from there.
WHY THE HECK IS SUMMER—AKA SURFER GIRL—IN SNOW GEAR?
Well, I had this wacky idea for a blonde snow bunny-type character. Then I realized “Hey, this is basically Surfer Girl! Wouldn’t it be cool if she went on vacation and it turned into an adventure?!”
A NEW SURFER GIRL ADVENTURE
The idea that I propose to you is this: I want to do a new Surfer Girl adventure. It would be a 64 to 72-page story—that would build on the sketched page layouts above—and she’d travel to an undersea kingdom where meets mermen, undead cursed pirates, a giant sea monster and other allies and enemies.
Think Pirates of the Caribbean meets Aquaman meets Goonies starring a five-foot blonde bombshell.
The story would be MUCH BETTER and far more fleshed out than the first issue which was honestly just a series of disparate scenes to show Summer in “action”.
The main story would conclude and then there would be a 10 to 12-page add-on story that would see Summer go on a winter vacation to a snow-sport resort to have fun doing some snowboarding. While there, she accidentally discovers a long lost Nordic temple which is protected by a ferocious Yeti! Then, that side story would end with a “TO BE CONTINUED” and would act as a lead-in for a whole new separate adventure at some point in the future.
Whether or not I can do this is up to you, my awesome customers and crowdfunding backers. I think I’ll launch this project some time in 2022. I’m reconfiguring my workflow and trying to make things better for you and myself. Surfer Girl #2 will be an exercise in this new work philosophy.
Let me know what you think! Back to work on Dangerous Curves/MAVRIX: Enter The Dollhouse!

Love what you did with the tentacles. Now we get a tease for merman sex? The thirst is real. XD LOL I'm sorta hoping for an Atlantis subplot or something outrageous.
I wasn't very excited about the first surfer girl and didn't back, but this idea looks cool, I love anything with tentacles.
