“VIRTUAL WORLDS” YOUTUBE VIDEO INCOMING
I’m currently writing a script for a near-future YouTube video about “virtual worlds” and what human beings’ obsession with them are.
It will discuss our unique ability to create fictional worlds, characters, scenarios, .etc and what part advancing technologies play—and will play—in our search for total immersion to break what I call “spatial discontentment”.
Right now, the script will translate into around 15 minutes of footage, but we’re aiming for a 30-40min video that will be exclusive to YouTube.
More to come…

The Warner Discovery accounting department may be looking into the books at DC Comics publishing. Is this the end of DC Comics as we know it?
Is the new Saints Row reboot already DOA?
fEven the Batman isn’t quick enough to evade the swinging axe of Warner Discovery CEO David Zaslav. The in-development Batman animated project is no longer in development for HBO Max. What’s next?
The 'obsession' as it's referred to, is an attempt to give representation to the memories of our childhood, both the toys, the media, and our dreams, both daydreams and night.
Virtual worlds are merely our attempt at making such things real, such as they may be. It's why books and movies like Ready Player One exist.
Mind you, there's also the Iseki line of things, and the tropes that go along with them.
More fantasy fulfilment. Not that any of this is bad, but...
I'm sure more than a few people wonder, if there's SO many of these virtual worlds out there,
where does mine fit in? Does it fit in at all?
To which I always consider, maybe it doesn't fit in exactly with everyone else's, but it fits in with YOUR world. And if you can, try and give it substance of any kind, so it can live on past you.
Although you should always remember, anyone visiting your world, will only be able to see it from their own perspective, and not yours.
