Xtended Edition Comics and We're Working With a PRO LOGO DESIGNER!
Dangerous Curves, MAVRIX and Surfer Girl semi-monthly comics?
The Xtended Edition comics arrived from the printers! Unfortunately, one of the books, Rule 34 Megazine Xtended Edition, was printed with the cover art for the Superhero Sexcapades book, so Jex and I sent back the Rule 34s for the cover art corrections.
According to UPS, the printers will receive the Rule 34s by tomorrow and they’ll correct the covers and ship them back to me by the end of the week.
As soon as the corrected copies of Rule 34 Megazine XTENDED EDITION arrive, I’ll be getting them out to backers who pre-ordered them.
Very excited!

There’s some new preliminary sketches for the promotional banner art for story scenes that will be featured in the comic. I think you’ll dig it, even so early on.
SINTHETIC REALITY STUDIOS WORKING WITH A PRO LOGO DESIGNER!
I managed to come across the amazing portfolio of a comic logo designer online and got his contact info. I emailed him and he’s an awesome dude! After numerous email exchanges and sharing some ideas and art, I decided to hire him to do the logos for both Neon Dreams 2 and the upcoming “Sweet ‘Em Up” graphic novel.
He’s already showed me some sketches for potential logos and I shared some feedback. It’s going to be great!
Dangerous Curves, MAVRIX and Surfer Girl as semi-monthly comics?
Just throwing an idea out there…
I grew up reading John Byrne’s Superman and Jim Lee’s X-Men back in the 80s and 90s and what I loved about them was how—more or less—they were “adventures of the month” comics that you could pick up and read about your favorite heroes dealing with a new bad guy every month. Simple, enthralling and fun storytelling. No more and no less.
Stan Lee once said that every comic book should be plotted and written as if it’s someone’s first comic book. Each story should have a definite beginning, middle and end that doesn’t require readers to know decades of backstory. I’d love to take these tenets and apply them to comics featuring my own characters.
Since I’ve been publishing comics, I’ve almost exclusively done graphic novel-style books that are either one-offs or anthologies that are parodical in nature. And these books typically have a page count of 52 at a minimum, going as high as 120+. If you think of graphic novels as movies, floppy comics are like episodes of a TV show. Sometimes you just want to watch a TV show for 30 minutes rather than devote a good chunk of your day to watching a movie.
Relating to my comics, I was thinking that it’d be really fun to be able to take certain characters that Sinthetic Reality already publishes and put out more bite-sized episodic fare featuring them! Some of my IPs like Dangerous Curves and MAVRIX were inspired by the aforementioned comics like Superman and X-Men whose comics are largely episodic in nature. Floppies would suit them.
So, instead of relegating these characters to graphic novel-level epics or NOTHING, I was considering putting out 22 to 24-page floppy comics of them going forward.
I just don’t have the time to personally make comics and graphic novels for every idea I have, but certain characters are ones I want to see more of. I’d have to hire artists to do Dangerous Curves/MAVRIX/Surfer Girl floppies, but we’d able to price them competitively. Nowhere near as low as modern Marvel/DC/Image due to economies of scale and a lack of access to , but through some working around, we can do it in volume, maybe selling individual floppies for $5 and 3-packs for somewhere around $10-15.
I don’t know. Let me know what you think!

I would love to see an ongoing Dangerous Curves and Mavrix. I personally love the idea of actual superhero stories that show the heroics, so that when we get the odd sexiness book, the characters are ones that we've already got to know and care about.
I love the idea but how much would it cost to make the floppies? Are you going to go through diamond?
